Sam Young. Leading Scorer on Pitt (18.5 points per game). Yet, if there is one person on Pitt everyone knows it is Dejuan Blair. I ask myself why. Because when I look at Pitt, Sam Young is consistently better than Blair. Young, I feel is so much more valuable to the Panthers than Blair. Do not get me wrong Blair is really good; it is just that he is not consistently good like Young. One game Blair will go off, with 25 than the next game he will have 9, Young is Mr. reliable, always getting around 20 points. And it amazes me how little publicity Young gets as opposed to Blair who gets tons of coverage.
This is really a shame, but do not be surprised when Young is getting 20 points per game in the NBA and Blair is riding the bench.

UNC 2009 Champions?

Hi everyone!

I think that the UNC Tar Heels are going all the way. With Ty Lawson back the Tar Heels are unbeatable. If you do not agree, just look at the stars in their line-up. Field general, Ty Lawson (16 points, 6 assists, two steals per game) at point, a well seasoned, 3 –time all American in Tyler Hansborough at center, and a viable option out on the wing in Wayne Ellington. On top of the excellent line-up it, they play all their games in Greensborough, UNC has basically punched their ticket to Mo town.

The most important thing in the tourney is guard play. If you compare the backcourt of UNC to that of the other No. 1 seeds it is NO CONTEST. Ty Lawson is one of the best guards in the country point blank, period. Plus when you add in Ellington to the mix there is no debate. Some people claim Dejuan Blair is the best center, they claim he will beast Tyler in the elite 8. Wrong! Tyler Hansborough is the toughest player in the NCAA. He will eat Blair for breakfast.

The famous saying Defense wins championships is not true. A great offense always beats a great defense. If you can take the ball down the court and put it in the basket consistently, that team is going to win that game.

This is why I like UNC as the champs. They have an offense full of weapons that will not be stopped. They are just too talented.

Is The AP Coaches Poll of the Top 5 College Football Teams A Joke?

I think that the AP Coaches Poll of the Top 5 Teams in College Football Poll is insanity!

Let’s take a look:

1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. USC
4. Oklahoma
5. Florida

There are so many problems with this, I don’t know where to start. My first question is why is LSU not in the top five? If I'm not mistaken, LSU won the BSC title last year. Just because Glenn Dorsey is gone doesn’t mean LSU should be No.7!!!! On the AP Poll, Missouri is in front of LSU for crying out loud!!! I think LSU should be the Number One till they are beaten.

My next issue is, how did Georgia get the number one ranking? What? If you beat HAWAII, a team that is the weakest conference in football, you get to be the number one ranking in the country? That makes no sense.

Also how did Oklahoma sneak in there? Who can name one player on the Oklahoma team? They are definitely not the number four team in the country.

And how on earth is FLORIDA, with the Heisman-winning QB, number 5!! Florida is the best team in the nation, cxcept for LSU. They have everyone coming back. Florida should be ranked #2 period, no discussion. This is what the AP Coaches Poll should look like:
1. LSU
2. Florida
3. Georgia
4. USC
5. Ohio State

Also my prediction for the BSC title game is Florida vs. Ohio State, and Florida is going to win. The reasons I chose Ohio State and not USC in the title game is that Ohio State is starting out ranked higher than Florida, and Ohio State will have more blow-out wins than USC because Florida is in an easier conference than USC. More blow-outs give Ohio State more points in the BSC standings.
